One of the finer flicks of the 70's-80's Shaolin Kung Fu flick era, SHAOLIN VS LAMA blends intense action, humor, and underlying themes addressing the cultural/ethnic conflict between Chinese & Tibetan societies at the same time. The story follows young Sung Yu Ting, in his sometimes comedic attempts to persuade an cantankerous GrandMaster (Yah Lan) to take him on as his pupil. Initially rejected, due to the betrayal suffered a decade earlier from a renegade student, Ting eventually becomes Shaolin's only hope against what has been discovered to have been a Tibetan Lama who only entered Shaolin for the purpose of avenging his original master's death. The movie is full of colorful characters, comedic moments, drama & action.
Wu-Tang lovers will find several popular vocal bits, used on BOTH of the Only Built For Cuban Linx Albums & other classics from the early RZA production days. Enjoy.
