SLAVERY BY ANOTHER NAME is a 2012 PBS documentary on the racial and economic corruption administered on Black Families by former slave owners and the Criminal Justice system in the former confederate states. Following the Civil war and continuing throughout the post industrial era, Black men, women and children were used as slaves by former plantation and mining company owners. These owners had close corrupt relationships with local law enforcement from the police, courts and corrections. Wealthy business owners would spot Blacks that they wanted to work within their companies and would have local police arrest them for petty crimes. The courts would prosecute, convict them and then charge them fines/court costs that they could not pay. The Blacks would then have their debts paid by these wealthy business owners and correctional facilities would lease them out as workers for the company for an extended time based on their debt owed. They'd be forced to work and live in deplorable conditions until the debt was deemed paid. Some were never released, even after fulfilling the time and work to be served. This is REAL AMERICAN HISTORY...
