Bill Goldberg vs. Hollywood Hulk Hogan: July 6th 1998
July 6th 1998 was the day, Atlanta's Georgia Dome was the place. What wrestling historians would call the "passing of the torch" match took place, as Bill Goldberg placed his 107-0 undefeated streak on the line against The Icon "Hollywood" Hulk Hogan in front of 40,000 fans. Some would argue that this match, thou a huge moment at that time, signaled the actual demise of the company WCW. Of course hind-sight is 20/20; but many would say that a match of this level of importance should NEVER have been given away on free television (as opposed to Pay Per View). Nevertheless, the match-complete with NBA All Star Karl Malone giving a Diamond Cutter to the late "Mr. Perfect" Curt Henning-is ever so entertaining.
