Feedback & Comments Welcome.
For those that did or didn't see part One, here's my attempt to tastefully shout out some of the pioneers in that industry, that broke down some of the barriers, and some of the most beautiful women to ever grace the small screen (or at least the Porn Screen Lol). Feedback & Comments Welcome. Unsung as a pioneering force in the game, Sinnamon Love is credited with performing in over 200 films between 1993 & 2011. She is said to have always mandated that her male partner wear a condom-a practice rarely followed in The Porn Industry-and this to be highly admired. The Internet says that she's currently dating Jarobi, from A Tribe Called Quest. #CougarLove This uniquely figured Latina put in work in at least 136 films, and will NEVER be forgotten. The Internet says that Luscious Lopez was working as a Teacher before somehow landing in the Porn Industry circa 2004-2005. Not sure if she's still working today; but she difinitely did her thing! This real life Preacher's daughter dove into the hardcore industry in 2007 at the age of 24. She spent 5 years as an active performer and was credited in 128 different films. Beautiful as can be, she put in an impressive amount of work in a such a short period of time. I wonder what she's doing now? Per the internet, this chick was the daughter of a Rabbi (go figure, I always thought she was Brazilian or something). Between 2005 & 2010, Naomi Russell performed in more than 250 films. and trust me when I say she definitely made her presence known... This voluptuous former biochemistry Student ending up earning a Finance and Marketing degree, from the University of Michigan, before somehow ending up as one of the baddest chicks in Porn History. She is said to have done over 100 films, between 1995 & 2002; somehow her name rarely comes up in the conversation of the best ever. She has my vote though. Starting in The Biz at the age of 18, Lacey Duvalle set fire to the screen from 2000 until 2012. Credited with at least 120 film titles under her belt, she was as beautiful as she was sexy & alluring. This 5"1' specimen of pure beauty has been around since 2003. Not alot is known about this Korean & Thai mixture of Loveliness-except that she also has a sister in the biz (Lily Thai). She is credited as having worked on at least 150 films, and is truly one of the Top Ten most beautiful EVER to grace the screen. her mother is the porn star and adult film director Angela DeAngelo. Not sure if there are any other mother/Daughter teams out there. This lovely & talented Chica started working at 18 years old, and worked well over 200 films, between 2001 & 2010. How do you make a list of the Top Pornstars of all time, with only 21 film credits? One look at Joyce's amazing physique will answer that. Now google her & see what she did with it. Nuff said! This Brazilian Goddess put it Down!!! Not necessarily one of my favorites, Pinky's work still can't be ignored. Her amazing 4"11' frame & body of work cannot be ignored. She is one of the most popular 7 recognizable Porn Stars ever, and was yet another trailblazing Proponent of HIV awareness, taking a test live on camera for the world to see. Pinky, aka Sarah Mirabelli was a Beast!

In America's early days, much was placed into ensuring that the majority of images of Black People portrayed the narrative that we were somehow less intelligent and/or less than human. There's the Happy Slave, the Over the Top Entertainer/Coon, the Docile & Subservient Aide that would sacrifice ANYTHING for the greater good, the Overly-Religious sufferer-waiting for White Jesus to Make a Way, and when necessary-the Savage. Consistently fed to the masses, these images formed the identity of Black People to those that did not interact with Black People enough to know any better. As time passes, and not enough evidence to the contrary breaks through the filters, the lie becomes truth in the eyes of the masses... "If you tell a big enough lie and tell it frequently enough, it will be believed." -Adolf Hitler This cycle has been repeating over & over again for centuries now. for every example of Black excellence, soon came to counter-punch. Before the advent of Radio, TV & Movies, so-called scholars lined up in droves to profess that the Negro inherently possessed every deficiency imaginable. As time passed, and any restrictive type of legislation needed to be passed, the "Black Boogeyman" would be sure to get the job done. From the criminalizing of marijuana & Cocaine-to Jim Crow, America's fear of The Angry and/or Sexually Deviant Black Man could always be counted on. Want to justify the many lynchings, judges handing down Life sentences to hard Labor Prison Camps, or the forced sterilization of Black Women-refer to the image painted that it was somehow for our own good. Somehow that person was being prevented from committing some crime later. Sound familiar? Ever notice that the early Black Exploitation era films almost always featured a Strong brother or Sister fighting against Dirty Cops & Crime Lords that CAME IN to EXPLOIT The Black Community; but suddenly it changed to being mostly about Pimps & Petty Hustlers INSIDE The Black Community? Sound Familiar? Hip Hop once had HEROES, that told us to take care of our families & stay away from the street life-now it's just one big orgy of Sex, Drugs, Violence, Materialism, & everything Chuck D told us Not to do. And several generations in, the majority have forgotten or manufactured new definitions for Everything that life is all about. So it's easy for a cop, or private citizen, to gun one of Our's down & claim "I feared for my life!" Any random day of watching television validates that notion in no time at all. Why was it so easy for the public to believe that Mike Brown stuck his hand into a patrol car and almost take away a cop's gun? How was something as simple as the alleged theft of a $4 box of cigars able to turn a soon to be college student into a terror to the community. From Nixon to Reagan to Bush Sr., painting the picture of Urban Lawlessness always precipitated the coming of a War against Black People. And today it's the same. the only difference is that our enemy has so many more tools with which to spread their propaganda. Black People we are at War. Please understand that radical changes are needed IMMEDIATELY. We have drank the poison Kool Aid for far too long. Wake up, stop making excuses, and think about the future. Why do you think they keep segregating the Black & Brown populations into neighborhoods & schools that Those In Power don't care about??? Why do you think stories keep popping up about alleged "No Go Zones" in other countries? Everything is a test. If you can get away with one thing, in one place, then it will surely work in others. Stop listening to & watching to the foolishness they feed us daily-especially with Our Children sitting right there with Us. Just because there are few movies 7 television shows about Black People, doesn't mean we should just be happy that there is one. Look at the underlying messages coming from these shows. Olivia Pope is as strong as it gets for everyone else-but weak and submissive to NOT ONE, BUT TWO CAUCASIAN MEN. What does that say about the value of a Good Black Man. remember there was one; but he wasn't good enough. On most other shows we are insanely insecure and/or irresponsible. What are we teaching our children? Think about how we are portrayed in the media, and start working to counter that. Let's hold Our Politicians, Preachers, Celebrities, and others accountable for their role in this mess. Boycott the radio stations that only "Program" songs about Sex, Drugs & Violence. Small steps can go a long way. add in a few documentaries and other learning opportunities to that lazy weekend afternoon. Just because your parent didn't do it is not an excuse for you to continue the trend. One Day at a Time & One Step at a Time. let's Learn, Grow & Elevate. Together... P.ROPER E.DUCATION A.LWAYS C.ORRECTS E.RRORS Playing the roles of a No-Nonsense GODDESS, at a time when most Black Women were portrayed as Weak-Minded & Subservient, Pam Grier has spent the past 40+ Years as a living embodiment of Grace, Beauty, Style & Fire! In honor of her 65th Birthday, we decided to devote a pictorial tribute to one of the "Women We Love." Enjoy! No long intro necessary here. Check out the infamous Tiny Lister, aka Deebo, aka Zeus as he sits down with Snoop to discusses "LAST FRIDAY," Wrestling for Vince McMahon as "ZEUS" against Hulk Hogan, The Impact of the original "FRIDAY" Movie, projects that he would love to be involved with, and More... For many of us, that came of age during the 70's & 80's, there just were not many positive images of color seen on television & movie screens. So in the rare occasion that one of "ours" broke through, it was usually a must-see groundbreaking moment. One clear & major example of these inspiring faces was James Milton Kelly, better known as Jim Kelly, or simply "BLACK BELT JONES." Jim Kelly was born in Paris, Kentucky; and after playing football at the University of Louisville, J. Kelly made major waves on the Martial Arts Scene all over the world. It was from this springboard, that Jim Kelly would then find his way into Hollywood; where he would end up playing iconic roles in some of the top Cult-Classic films in Kung Fu & Blacksploitation Film History. Jim Kelly is of course best known for his role as Williams, in 1973's Classic Bruce Lee film "Enter The Dragon;" but most of will also remember him for his roles in
Undoubtedly Jim Kelly would also be one of the influences behind the Afro Samurai character, Bushido Brown on The Boondocks, and Black Dynamite. After his film career began to slow down, Mr. Kelly took up the game of tennis, and was nationally ranked on the United States Tennis Association's Senior Circuit. In more recent years Jim Kelly could be seen with long lines of people waiting for an opportunity to meet him, at Film & Comic Book Conventions. According to his wife, Jim Kelly died at home in San Diego of an unspecified form of cancer. He was 67 years old. Thank you for entertaining & inspiring us Mr. Kelly. Your legacy will be remembered for many generations to come. |
