France, Great Britain, Germany and Portugal were the major principal parties involved, as they held the largest territorial claims at the time. The Berlin Conference continued on well into 1885, and many of the agreed upon territorial divisions would be the subject of additional land-grabs during World Wars I & II. Many of the civil wars and conflicts that we hear about today in Africa are directly related to the psychological impact of hundreds of years of Mental, Physical & Emotional Warfare waged against the People of Africa by these European Nations. The ONLY way to keep control of these people, and Their Land, is to Control their Minds. Warfare & Brutality will only take things so far-but if you can convince a nation of people to Mistrust, Devalue The Lives Of & Fight Their Own, they will be too preoccupied to fight their Own Common Enemy. Sound Familiar???
