Wax Lyrical is defined by TTEOAN as: music created in an unreserved and highly prolific way that is pressed on vinyl, or that uses a vinyl aesthetic. For a more elaborate description of the term Wax Lyrical, check out prior posts: Vol. I, Vol. I.a, Vol. II & the Special Edition.
This edition of Wax Lyrical features two songs from two different Emcees with several commonalities: both performed at IIIIISOUND IIIIITHERAPY events; both of them have lived in Nashville, TN and currently reside in Southern California. They both are Emcees that I respect and consider to be of high caliber-Moss Da Beast & Mr Sith. They both take their craft-music seriously, and possess the ability to rock a crowd. However, their styles are very different, dope, but definitely different-as they should be...Wax Lyrical strives to host a variety of styles.
Instead of describing how different they are musically, I’ll let the songs speak for themselves. The first cut is by Moss Da Beast-Soul Mate. It’s on the Best of IIIIISOUND IIIIITHERAPY Vol. I CD (2010). It uses a Maxwell sample with an ill horn break. Moss does his thing over the track, while Vamp provides some nice cuts. The other selection is by Sith-Right On Brova (2011). It uses a 4 Tops sample from their song with the same title off the Meeting of Minds LP. Sith rips it without question. Both of these joints are hot! S.O. to both of em for creating good music.
