...'Well alright y'all!'...As Star Child put it so eloquently. It's another edition of RBG-Return of the B-Girl. For the first post, I basically broke down the disparity between what the powers that be deem as beautiful, from a normalized standpoint, and the reality of what beauty is from an everyday people standpoint.
I went further to explain that cosmetic surgery and synthetic appearances have dominated the imagery of what citizens consider to be feminine beauty, and how Hip Hop Culture overall, at one point shaped fashion and faces in the mainstream, but is now regulated by other entities that know nothing of Hip Hop Culture.
I made sure to mention that women have always been an intricate part of Hip Hop Culture since it's inception, using factual names and historical occurrences involving women, that helped Born Hip Hop Culture, while continuing to nurture its global existence, with little to no recognition. This is an epic fail of the truth about Hip Hop Culture.
I summed it up by stating the fact that natural beauty, and women that have natural beauty, are all around us. However, they get little to no praise for their beauty, let alone the accomplishments, triumphs and tragic situations they encounter in daily life and remain beautiful while going through them...Inside and out...If you'd like to know more about the concept of RBG, refer to the initial post.
