On August 5th, in 1967, Emcee of pioneering Punk to Hip Hop band the Beastie Boys Adam Yauch, AKA MCA was born in the borough of Brooklyn, NYC, NY. Their License to Ill LP is considered a classic, and Paul’s Boutique is known for the numerous samples they used to make each track. A record like that in today’s day and age could not be made due to the amount of money that would spent on sample clearances. He became more spiritual in the mid 90’s and meeting the Dalai Lama and protesting American wars in Muslim countries. He died from cancer on May 4th, 2012 in NYC, NY.
