Peace
I sat down to chill after posting the L4TPB Vol. 3 post, and hit up [email protected] to see how he felt about the Wax Lyrical Vol. 1 post on the Boot Camp Click. We built for a minute on the current state of Hip Hop and needing to get it out of the grips of corporate entities that are shaping it… a way to bring it back to the people, where it belongs. We went into how the original sound relied on sampling, which is now pretty much outlawed unless you got mega bucks to clear em. The systemic dilemma found in how the music promotional market does not allow empowering message-based music or songs that speak about real life everyday people situations like work, romance, friendship, family, passions/hobbies, tragedies, social encounters and society’s current state-to be in the forefront of the Hip Hop Cultural Movement. Hip Hop culture that focuses on those topics exists more than most people know about. Instead, the industry encourages ‘super thug’ imagery, hedonism, and criminal and materialistic lifestyles. Then I was like: you Emcee, what you on? He sent me this, joint called Dee Troy Eat, so I’m putting it up. Hip Hop still is being done for the people by the people. Let me know what y’all think in the comments. If you’re an artist reading this and want to submit music to the blog, leave your email in the comments and I’ll get at you. Please only submit substance based, real life music. Thank you!
Peace
