many of these same battles are being fought Today (under the disguise of Voter Rights Laws, Stand Your Ground, Redistricting, and the School to Prison Pipeline). Like then, we cannot depend on the government to help. And sadly, WE AREN'T EVEN PAYING ATTENTION. WE MUST WAKE UP NOW, OR WE MAY NEVER HAVE ANOTHER CHANCE TO MOVE FORWARD INTO A BRIGHTER EXISTENCE. For some, our purpose is to be in Servitude. For many, we are a THREAT. And they will stop at nothing to protect what they have deemed to be theirs only.
On this day in History, April 13th 1873, a large-scale race riot took place that would change the course of American History, Government, Politics, and Race Relations. THE COLFAX MASSACRE took place in colfax, Louisiana on Easter Sunday of 1973, when the KKK, WHITE LEAGUE, and groups of both Former UNION & CONFEDERATE SOLDIERS attacked The Grant Parish Courthouse-which was controlled & protected by the local Black Citizens of Colfax. At issue was tension over The Reconstruction-Era gains of former slaves, a disputed Gubernatorial Election, the rights to vote, Stand as EQUALS with those that once held them in Bondage, and live Freely under the 14th & 15th Amendments to the U.S. Constitution, and resentment against the Federal government. As a result, White Southern Democrats formed their own "Shadow Government" & Army geared toward maintaining control over their Land and Government. Violence against both Blacks & White Republicans quickly had become the norm; and it all culminated to a fever pitch on Easter Sunday 1873. The nearly All-Black Militia was armed; but were outnumbered and caught off guard by their more heavily armed attackers. More than 100 Black People were murdered that day-approximately half of them were killed AFTER THEY HAD SURRENDERED!!! Only three of the offenders were arrested, once Federal Troops had come in to TEMPORARILY Restore Order. Each of their convictions were overturned by The Supreme Court (United States v. Cruikshank 1876). within a very short amount of time, all political power and control of the city's bases of power would return to the hands of racist Southern Democrats (I know, sounds weird today right?); and the overall vision of the courts & Legislatures would be to severely limit the federal government's role in protecting the newly-emancipated Black Citizens from racial Violence & Intimidation. While there were many other incidents of this nature, most historians agree that The Colfax Massacre was ranks as the single most violent episode of Racial Violence in U.S.History. Certainly no other incident carries the same negative ramifications in regard to the position of Law & the protection of one's Supposedly "INALIENABLE RIGHTS UNDER THE CONSTITUTION." many of these same battles are being fought Today (under the disguise of Voter Rights Laws, Stand Your Ground, Redistricting, and the School to Prison Pipeline).

I am appalled at how terrible this whole artical of "History" has been written. So much added to make it seem like there was no white people that stood behind the black people. Your discription of who attacked Colfax is wrong. , Louisiana white residents, who did not want to cooperate with the federal governments support of the Republican governor refused to cooperate with the federal troops sent to Louisiana to restore order.. The white League is SIMILAR to the Ku Klux Klan but NOT THE KKK. They formed their own "shadow" government and their own army who intimidated and attacked Republicans and blacks all over the state. While the worst violence occurred in Colfax, other incidents were sparked in Coushatta, when the White League murdered six Republicans, and in New Orleans, when 30 were killed and 100 more wounded, black and whites lives. You have made this whole part of history sound like a black and white issue as most the things written to spread hatred. And yes as history has told us it was a issue to keep blacks from being equal, but lets not forget the amments written by WHITE men for the equality of ALL MEN not just WHITE. it never has been a black and white issue only in racists minds is it BLACK AND WHITE! For ever white person that has tried to keep the black people "enslaved" their has always been other white people who have stood side by side and had the black peoples backs, millions of men died in the civil war for the freedom of the south not just south as land but south to free slaves. How come we never see anything written about all the people who endangered their families and their own lives to help with the underground rail road? One has to ask themselves who are the racist. Historys chapter had turned from the civil war days to free all black people in 1955 with Rosa Parks bus incident. Equality for all black people. No more segragation. What a wonderful heroic honorable and scary thing for this amazing girl to do. in her words i recall her saying "Have you ever been hurt and the place tries to heal a bit, and you just pull the scar off of it over and over again." historic powerful words , her attitude was not to slay the white man but to live among, to unite "Each person must live their life as a model for others" dose that sound like a racist to you ? me either. Black people have moved mile stones in history , When I read articals like this its not the rewrite of what really happen in history that makes me sick, its the statements at the end of them that are bothersome that hold black people back. all the hate of passed history that dont let black people move on. History is just that history its done over gone, and yet there for us to read and learn not to ever do it again, to see how man ALL MEN have evolved into moderen now day living where there is no more slavory no more segragation .. So many are blinded by negative history and dont see these days are past, gone over .. ITS HISTORY and should be left as that, not burped up in BS semi put together hatered articals to stir up what has been already fixed .. The racism will never die if we keep reliving historys passed. No race is superior to another. With terriorist at our door, its time to band together as one nation and fight side by side as men and women of equality for the love of our country and the freedom of ALL RACES in America.

thinking further into what had been written here it really is obvious that this was written to spread hate not to educate people about the past, and its sad that the facts have been twisted so much to piss off black people and to bring that hate out in them.. shame on who ever wrote this, i see no name for the author of this BS only tells me how much of a coward they are. your idea of how todays world is also says to me that your trying to brain wash black people into your paranoid delusion.. "many of these same battles are being fought Today (under the disguise of Voter Rights Laws" ??? do you really belive this? what a joke the poor girl sat on that bus and took all that hatred for nothing .. how dare you .

One additional note, that can be verified through study. The Rosa Parks Incident was actually staged. The actual person that took a stand was Claudette Colvin; but she was considered to be too dark-skinned and had a child out of wedlock. So she was replaced by Rosa Parks who then attempted to take the same stand a short time later. Look it up... Oh and Black People are already pissed #MikeBrown #LaQuanMcDonald #SandraBland and the list goes on... 4/17/2016 10:08:32 pm
Let me first say Thank You so very much for not only taking the time to read this post; but also for taking out time to comment. Whether we agree or not, your feedback is still very much appreciated.

I have seen racist so called Christian groups that are so vile and do not know ELOHIM! They're both spreading hate! They are puppets and have no clue! Elohim is not a judge by color but by hearts. How deceived are the ones who don't know Him or they would stop this hate movement and get out of the flesh and into the Spirit!
