A lawsuit filed by The Los Angeles Times, in association with The AP & Bloomberg News, has led to the release of previously suppressed video of Gardenia California Police Officers Christopher Mendez, Christopher Sanderson and Matthew Toda shoot three unarmed men. The incident occurred on June 2, 2013, and resulted in the death of 34 Year Old Ricardo Diaz-Zeferino. Police Officials were initially successful in burying away the dash-cam footage, but Federal Judge Stephen V. Wilson stepped in to ensure that the world sees this horrific use of Unnecessary & Excessive Force! Unfortunately the officers involved were NEVER disciplined, and are still on the force right to this very day. Their excuse was of course that they thought that Ricardo Diaz-Zeferino was going for a weapon. Furthermore, they blamed the 911 Dispatcher for allegedly reporting that a robbery had occurred. The men involved were actually looking for a bike that had been stolen from Ricardo Diaz-Zeferino's younger brother, but instead they became the suspects. Admittedly drunk, and dealing with a language barrier, still should never result in anyone's death by supposedly trained professionals. The video posted below clearly shows that none of the men were defiant or aggressive in any way. However you can see one of the officers cock back his weapon just prior to opening fire. The City of Gardenia agreed to pay out a settlement of $4.7 million dollars to Ricardo Diaz-Zeferino's Family-plus another bystander who was also shot. But still, some agent for The White Supremacist Power Structure will argue that these men somehow deserved to be shot at, and Our President will say little to nothing of substance in regard to these happenings... #FTP
A Tennessee Highway Patrol Officer has been arrested and charged him with Delivery Of A Schedule II Controlled Substance and Possession Of A Weapon During A Dangerous Felony. The officer, Trooper Mark Williams had been under investigation & was seen buying hydrocodone while on patrol duty Friday June 19th. TBI Officers also arrested Elliot goode, the dealer that sold Trooper Williams the drugs.
The shocking thing here though is that he has not been fired. I'm not sure what the process is here, but when caught red-handed doing wrong, most people would be terminated on the spot. Trooper Williams however has been placed on "discretionary leave with pay!!!"
Surely someone will realize how bad this looks soon & serve Officer Pill-Popper his Separation Notice. #TaxDollarsBeingPutToGreatUse
Trooper Mark Williams has been with the THP since 2004, and had most recently been working The Lauderdale County/Memphis District.
BLOCKING FREEDOM, INSTEAD OF PROTECTING IT: U.S. APPEALS COURT BLOCKS THE RELEASE OF ANGOLA 3 INMATE
Albert Woodfox has spent the last 43 years of his life in prison. Most of that time has been served in solitary confinement, without a window nor access to reading materials, at The Angola Louisiana State Penitentiary. Mr. woodfox's health is deteriorating rapidly-and he is currently suffering from Renal Failure, Hepatitis c, and Heart Disease. On Monday June 7th U.S. District Judge James Brady issued and order for his release, overturning two prior convictions for the death of prison guard Brent Miller in 1972. Woodfox had been convicted, along with two other inmates, and the three have remained in solitary confinement for most of that time ever since. The convictions were overturned based on Jury Misconduct & other Racial Biases involving the jury. Infamously called "The Angola 3," their isolation was officially justified on the grounds that their membership in The Black Panther Party & push for prison reforms could cause unrest among the other inmates.
In ordering Albert Woodfox's release, Judge Brady also decreed that he could not be tried a third time. But on Friday June 12th The 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ordered that Woodfox remain in prison-pending another hearing scheduled for late august. This follows a long pattern of abusing America's Political Prisoners that goes back at least to the 1960's if not before. It is a regular thing to hear on the news about OTHER countries imprisoning & even killing those who dare speak out against the government; but remain in denial about what happens right here in the so-called "Land of the Free!" Mumia Abu Jamal is dying in a Pennsylvania Prison, with little access to adequate healthcare and very limited visitation from the outside world. Assata Shakur remains in hiding in Cuba, with a $2 Million Dollar Bounty on her head, though scientific evidence proves she could never committed the crime she was convicted of. As for The Angola 3, Herman Wallace died in October 2013-just three days after being released from Angola & granted a new trial. Robert King was released in 2001. Educate yourself, and then educate others. The government is only able to do these things because they are winning the messaging war. We must get the word out, so that true justice can be achieved.
CLEVELAND POLICE OFFICER MICHAEL BRELO FOUND NOT GUILTY AFTER MURDERING AN UNARMED COUPLE IN 2012!!!
Despite evidence that Cleveland Police Officer Michael Brelo jumped on the hood of a car, and fired 15 shots into the windshield, today he has now been acquitted in the charge of voluntary manslaughter. Brelo was also acquitted of felonious assault in the course of executing Timothy Russell and Malissa Williams in November 2012. Timothy Russell and Malissa Williams were executed after Cleveland Police Officers sought to pull them over for an alleged "Turn Signal violation." The driver did not comply, and a chase ensued. During the chase more than 100 gunshots were fired into the car, by a total of 13 different officers. Brelo was the only officer charged-because he reloaded his weapon, jumped on top of the car, and continued firing long after the car had stopped moving. Police allege that the car backfired when taking off, which led them to believe that they had been shot at. No gun was ever found, nor was there any evidence that either person fired anything at any cop. Michael Brelo, who was facing 22 years in prison, was acquitted because his lawyers argued that "other officers fired during the final barrage of bullets and prosecutors couldn't prove when the fatal shots were fired." Judge John P. O'Donnell stated that "the state did not prove beyond a reasonable doubt that the defendant Michael Brelo knowingly caused the deaths of Timothy Russell and Malissa Williams, because the essential element of causation was not proved for both counts...
It was reasonable despite knowing now that there was no gun in the car and he was mistaken about the origin of the gunshots."
A total of 137 bullets were fired into the couple's car during the incident, and reports indicate that they were each shot at least 20 times each.
The City of Cleveland has a long history of going far beyond the use of excessive force, and still has to address the matter of the officers that executed 12 Year Old Tamir Rice in 2014. That same year year their courts failed to file charges against cops that executed 22 Year Old John Crawford, who was shopping for an air rifle in Wal Mart. Late last year The City of Cleveland agreed to begin implementing reforms, after The U.S. Department of Justice investigated the Cleveland Police department & determined that there was a "Pattern or Practice of Excessive Force" and Violating Civil Rights.
The full transcript of the judges decision can be found here:
Last week Dorian Johnson filed a $25,000 lawsuit against The city of Ferguson & Former Officer Darren Wilson; and yesterday he went to jail in Ferguson. According to news reports "police had been called to check on a group of people who were possibly armed with guns. Johnson was accused of approaching an officer to keep him from making an arrest, and police say he also threw suspected narcotics onto the ground." This makes at least the second time this year that an eyewitness to Police Misconduct found himself in jail under suspicious circumstances (currently Ramsey Orta-who filmed the MURDER of Eric Garner-sits in a cell on Rikers Island). Oddly enough, the arrest of Dorian Johnson comes less than 24 hours after he made his lawsuit public.
For those that don't remember, Dorian Johnson was with Mike Brown when he was MURDERED. he is most famous for his testimony that Brown was shot "like an animal," and it is his now infamous interview from which the slogan "Hands Up-Don't Shoot" originates. As far as the actual arrest goes, the narrative remains the same. Officers "suspected" that that someone had a weapon, Johnson is "suspected" of having drugs on him, and Johnson somehow interfered with the officers ability to do their job. smh. Oh by the way, like so many other cases, no drugs were found. Johnson's lawsuit asserts that Darren Wilson targeted Brown & Johnson without probable cause; and that "Officer Wilson acted with either deliberate indifference and/or reckless disregard toward" #FTP
On the heels of news that now-former South Carolina Police Officer Michael Slager would be charged for the MURDER of 50 Year Old Coast Guard Veteran (and Father of Four) Walter Scott, reports came out in regard to a similar MURDER in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The similarities?
But in the MURDER of 44 Year Old Eric Harris there is the key distinction that he was not killed by a Cop. How does such a thing happen is a question that will certainly have implications far beyond this case, but more on that later...
So for those that do not know, Eric Harris was killed while being arrested for allegedly selling a firearm to an undercover Task Force Agent. Upon realizing that he had been caught up in a sting operation, Mr. Harris took off running. Agents chased him, and eventually tackled him to the ground. Moments later he was dead at the hands of a 73 Year Old CEO of an Insurance company, who had enlisted as a VOLUNTEER/RESERVE SHERIFF'S DEPUTY!!! Robert bates used his personal weapon, and fired it into Harris's Back, claiming that he THOUGHT HE WAS USING HIS TASER!!! Pictures & video refutes Bate's police report claims that Harris was struggling with the officers (look closely at his hands & shoulders). CEO Bates would also be quoted as explaining that he thought Eric Harris had a gun, because of the manner in which he was running. Smh.
"I noticed that Harris was running in an unusual way because as he ran he repeatedly touched his right hand to his waistband," he wrote. "Based on my past experience, primarily with the task force, and my past training, I believed that Harris might be carrying a gun."
So the question remains, just how did Robert Bates find himself involved in a Task Force Operation? All signs point to MONEY. Bates is on record as having donated cars, video equipment, and other items to the Tulsa Sheriff's Department over the years. He also donated at least $2,500 toward Sheriff Stanley Glanz's Re-Election Campaign. According to reports, the program that allowed for Bates to serve as a VOLUNTEER/RESERVE SHERIFF'S DEPUTY normally places these recruits in roles more related to assisting with helping those affected by fires, tornadoes, and other more public servant capacities. News reports reveal that there are hundreds of similar programs across the country, and many of those will undoubtedly face scrutiny to make sure that there are no more Rich George Zimmerman's (Lol) paying for the opportunity to play cop. Robert bates has been charged with
Second-Degree Manslaughter "Involving Culpable Negligence" for the April 2nd incident. Be sure to check the video, and listen out for the part where one of the officers yells out "FUCK YOUR BREATH!” Hopefully that officer will be put on blast, and receive a proper punishment for his part in this matter. Stay tuned...
On the same day that The New York Times issued a report that The U.S. Department of Justice has determined that The Ferguson Police Department is guilty of a pattern of racial abuses that include Excessive Force, Unwarranted Traffic Stops, Petty Citations, Unjustified Searches, Prolonged Imprisonment & other Discriminatory Practices, we observe the 24 Year Anniversary of The Infamous Rodney King Beating. Both were landmark cases that brought attention to the abuse of power that WE so often tried to tell the rest of the world about. Rodney King was beaten, in what may have been the most shocking piece of video ever, by four LAPD Officers on March 3rd 1991. A bystander caught the beating on tape, and the rest is history. Laurence Powell, Timothy Wind, Theodore Briseno, and Stacey Koon would be acquitted in the beating-which several days of rioting. Now today we find ourselves again trying to convince the masses that there's something not quite right about the deaths of Mike Brown, Eric Garner, Tamir Rice, Oscar Grant, Sean Bell & countless others. Relive this moment with us. Remember Rodney King & Fight back against the system. Nothing will change, unless WE make it change.
In the past I've written about the code words used to convey just why a Black, Brown or Yellow Inhabitant of this nation was beaten or killed after being confronted by a cop. Usually the code words center around the implication that this person was somehow deemed to be a threat (i.e "The Suspect was Non Compliant," "The Officer Feared For His Life," "A Crime Had Been Committed, In That Area, Earlier In The Day," etc). However, many of these same tense confrontations take place in other communities & those "citizens" either Live To See Their Day In Court-or Walk Away with a Warning. YouTube is full of videos of White Citizens assaulting cops, and much care was taken to simply contain said suspect. So what's the difference? It's the Mentality. NO, ALL COPS ARE NOT RACIST & VIOLENT. But they are human. Socialization is real, and so is its psychological impact on how we view everything around us is real. So if said cop views certain elements of the population in a negative light, Right or Wrong, this will impact how they interact with them. Sad to say this often places The Black & Brown population in danger, whenever we come into the presence of cops. We must Dissect 7 Attack the Mentality that far to often leads to the use of Lethal Force in Black & Latino Communities across America.
Here we have Seattle Police Officer Cynthia Witlatch & Charleston, West Virginia Lieutenant Shawn Williams as recent examples of people who just shouldn't have a badge.
Seattle Police Officer Cynthia Witlatch arrested an elderly Black man for carrying a golf club down the street. According to her reports, the golf club was viewed as a weapon & he was using it in a threatening manner towards her. The reality of the matter was that the 69-year-old man was using the golf club as a cane. And the allegedly threatening behavior took place while she was driving past him. Officer Whitlatch wrote in her reports that she wasn’t certain if Wingate’s action was “directed at me” until she saw him in the rearview mirror. Wingate’s “demeanor was hostile and his actions were threatening and I perceived them as such.” in-car video did not capture those events.
After hearing that William Wingate had accepted a plea deal for an unlawful weapon charge, Officer Witlatch sent emails to the state Attorney's Office complaining that about that they should have also pursued Obstruction of Justice charges & then went on a Social Media Rant about Black Racists. Dashcam footage has since been discovered, that shows that Mr. Wingate did nothing wrong, and even worse that Officer Witlatch lied in her reports. Charges have since been dismissed.
Back in October, Charleston, West Virginia Lieutenant Shawn Williams was placed under Leave-pending Investigation-after video was released that exposed his White Supremacist leanings. The video is said to have been of his eight year old daughter singing a Klu Klux Klan Anthem, while dressed in parts of his Police Uniform. In the background he can allegedly be heard Shouting Racial Slurs. Williams & many others claimed that there was some type of conspiracy against the Officer, and that his privacy had been violated, because the videos came from his personal computer. In late January Lieutenant Williams finally resigned from the Charleston Police Department. The video is said to have been leaked by his soon to be Ex-Wife. Again remember that The SOCIALIZATION & Embedding of Racist Attitudes/Beliefs is key here. Who knows what damage has been done to the mind of his eight year old daughter, or what havoc she may now spread among her peers.
In a case that just seems to grow bigger each month, 27 Year Old Oklahoma City Police Officer Daniel Holtzclaw is facing life in prison for 32 separate charges of sexual assault carried out while on duty. Originally arrested in August, Holtzclaw was charged with First-Degree Rape, Forced Oral Sodomy, Sexual Battery, Indecent Exposure, Rape By Instrumentation, Felony Stalking and Burglary. After that, additional alleged victims came forward in September-with still six more this month.
THE VICTIM'S AGES RANGED FROM AS YOUNG AS 17-RIGHT UP TO 58 YEARS OLD!
ALL OF THE VICTIMS WERE BLACK WOMEN!!!
According to various reports, Holtzclaw would approach the women, under false pretenses & threaten to arrest them if they did not comply with her sexual requests. Others allege that he threatened to hurt them. Internal investigations were said to have begun, after one brave victim called the police immediately after being assaulted. Now sitting at his mom's house, on Paid Leave, Holtzclaw's next hearing is scheduled for November 18th. His bail, originally set at $5 million, was lowered to just over $600,000. Meanwhile his family posts conspiracy theories of "ulterior motives" from the "Justice For Daniel Holtzclaw" Facebook Page. Be sure to go to the page & let them know how you feel. Wondering aloud why this is not blowing up in the daily news cycle???!!!
Simply disgraceful. To watch a judge step out of Professional character to lament about how this KILLER was a "Law-Abiding citizen," not Moved By Race, not a Monster, and how he just made a mistake. The ONLY mention of the VICTIM, 19 Year Old Renisha McBride, was in reference to her making some "terrible choices."
For those that missed this, and with almost no media coverage-I'm sure that there are many who did, 55 Year Old Theodore Wafer was sentenced to 17 years in prison for shooting Renisha McBride as she knocked on his door seeking help in the overnight hours of November 2nd 2013. The story was lost in the shuffle of stories about Trayvon Martin, and purposely isolated as a non-racial incident. For those with common sense, though, the same "I Feared For My Life" Defense was was used to justify killed yet another Black Youth. Wafer claimed that he feared someone was breaking in, and that he fired his shotgun in self-defense; but testified that the shooting was an accident during the trial. Ms. McBride had been knocking on his door, after crashing her car after attempting to drive while intoxicated. Mr. Wafer is said to have opened the main door of his Dearborn Heights, Michigan home, and fired through the LOCKED Screen Door. While no one is calling this man a racist, this case speaks volumes to the way that Black People are viewed in this country today. Judge Dana Hathaway is a yet another classic example of the narrow-minded viewpoint that we are forced to endure these days. From the long diatribe in the video below, she could care less about the loss of a young woman's life-only the ruining of an old/overly aggressive savage of a man. Without honest conversations on this issue, change cannot occur. How many more young Black People must die?
