"Cornbread, Earl and Me" Cornbread, Earl and Me was a classic "coming of age" story based on Ronald Fair's Novel "Hog Butcher." Each tell the story of perils and tragedies that often accompany inner city life, and the struggles of the community to survive and elevate past those conditions. The movie features a young Laurence Fishburne & former Los Angeles Laker star Jamaal Wilkes. The cast is rounded out with an all star grouping of pioneering talent, that paved the way for so many others during the 1970's and 1980's, including Moses Gunn, Rosalind Cash, Bernie Casey, Madge Sinclair, Thalmus Rasulala, and Antonio Fargas. As the story goes... High School Basketball Star Nathaniel "Cornbread" Hamilton is all set to embark on a better life, via a recently earned college scholarship, when he is mistakenly killed by overzealous cops. While the community mourns, the "power that be" attempt to cover up the police misconduct with lies and intimidation tactics. As the only witness to the truth, young Wilford Robinson is faced with a choice that could haunt him, his family, and his community-whether he chooses to speak out or remain silent... Enjoy.
