Today on Vinyl is a daily post that covers artists, history and significant events that have occurred in music or Human freedom movements. It’s not genre specific or politically biased, and it attempts to share interesting facts as they relate to the vinyl aesthetic. Some topics covered have been serious-deaths, good bands calling it quits, jail time…while other things have been brighter-births, bands getting together, good substance-based freedom music being made…Back on July 13th, when the first Today, on Vinyl post went up, I planned on making it a reoccurring post, but not in the literal sense, like every day…
At some point, it just continued. After doing about 4 posts, I was hooked. The information I’ve learned alone has turned me on to a lot of music I wouldn’t have known, and given me a greater appreciation for the music that I do. I took the liberty of picking a top 20 out of the 100 posts to-date. They’re more in order of picture set up rather than asecending or descending rank. The issues range from Today, on Vinyl #10, all the way up to #96. All four months are represented (mid-July, Aug, Sept, mid-Oct). Enjoy!
