THE NEWEST, ILLEST, AND MOST ACCURATE FACE OF WELFARE FRAUD...

Picture
This couple, Colin & Andrea Chisholm, are accused of raking in more than $165, 000 in AFDC, Medicaid, Pre-Natal Care & Food Stamp Benefits-all the while living on their $1.2 million, 83-foot yacht docked in South Florida.  With waterfront homes in both Minnesota & Florida, $3 million in the bank, and at least two successful business ventures, these self-proclaimed aristocrats still somehow were able to collect government aid from BOTH THE STATE OF MINNESOTA & THE STATE OF FLORIDA!!!

Picture
Even after moving from Florida to Minnesota, the benefits from Down south continued to roll in-even though the Chisholm Family were now collecting benefits Up North.  This included a $22,000 Medical Bill for the birth of the couple's son in 2007.  The $165,000 is only the tab collected from the State Of Minnesota-Florida is still investigating just how much they got took for.  On applications for aid, the Chisholm's claimed to be unemployed, with no car or other assets, and living with their mother.  smh.  All the while, they operated Several business entities & billed medicare for more than $60K for Massage Parlor visits.  Wow.  If they’re convicted, the couple faces up to 20-years in prison-but the charge also carries the possibility of probation.  As of now though the couple remains on the run.  No one has seen them in the last six weeks; and authorities believe that they may have left the country.  Ironically it was Mr. Chisholm's ex-wife, of 20 years, that that alerted the State of Minnesota of the fraud.  Stay tuned for updates to this story.

BOOM CLAP BACHELORS - "TIDEN FLYVER"
("B___H DON'T KILL MY VIBE" SAMPLE)

I can only imagine that Kendrick must have been equally as captivated as I was when I stumbled across this track from the Danish Band BOOM CLAP BACHELORS.  "B___H Don't Kill My Vibe"  basically just goes over the instrumental of the 2008 single "Tiden Flyver."  With a Cup of Coffee, Glass of Wine or whiskey, and a nice view of the morning sky-there just aren't very many better ways to start off your day.  Enjoy.

3.26.2001 - THE END OF AN ERA
VINCE MCMAHON BUYS OUT WCW & KILLS HIS COMPETITION

Picture
"Imagine That..."  The now infamous phrase uttered by Vincent Kennedy McMahon, as his face appeared on the opening segment of rival WCW Wrestling's Flagship Program "WCW MONDAY NITRO."  While it's a known fact that Pro Wrestling is Highly Scripted-this was REAL.  While scripted, many of the most memorable wrestling story-lines were based on real off-camera drama & circumstances.  Real like a 10+ Year Ego-Driven battle between Vince McMahon & Ted Turner, in which Ted appeared to be hell bent on driving Vince out of business.  To gain the advantage over the other, both spent years buying up Wrestlers & smaller Wrestling companies like a Real-Life Game of Monopoly.  Unfortunately for Ted Turner, he would not see this one out to the sad end-as he would later find himself ousted from the company he built-once he made the ill fated merger with AOL/Time Warner.  Now marginalized by the presence of weak ownership that saw wrestling $$$ as beneath them, and by years of dumb business moves, Vince swooped in and purchased the company for an amount so ridiculously low that I won't even put it in print.  smh.

Anyway as the story goes, the final episode of NITRO played out as two hours of Wrestlers & Staffers-that legitimately did not know what the future held for them- trying to either send the company off with a BANG or auditioning for a future job with the WWF/WWE.  All of this had gone down just three days earlier; so no one new what was to come.  I remember myself sitting in a Studio session & blinking in disbelief, as I turned on NITRO-but saw Vince McMahon's face.  WTF?  And remember, this was before the days when somehow/someway EVERYTHING leaked to the internet.  Lol.  Aside from the drama though, any true wrestling fan will forever remember the shocking intro, followed by One of Ric Flair's Greatest (and probably un-scripted) promos-followed by the emotionally charged "final" match between Ric Flair & Sting.  (Writer's Note: both had been out of action due to injuries; but wrestled anyway per Vince McMahon's request & both would face each other again years later in TNA).  Both MONDAY NIGHT RAW & MONDAY NITRO were simulcast on both TNT & TNN; and ended with Vince McMahon asking the WWE fans which WCW Talents should be hired or fired.  #GoodTelevision

Since that day however, wrestling has never been the same.  No competitor=no challenge to put out the best possible product.  Most of the top stars from WCW either never came over to WWF/WWE, came several years later, were too old to make any long term impact, and/or were buried by WWF/WWE's Brain-trust out of spite.  The only real bright spot is that the WWE has put out a number of great DVD releases that chronicle that era in detail.  And the WWE is said to have made large sums of money off of them, as they currently outsell all core-WWE DVD Products by far.  For me, thise DVDs have saved many a boring day.  P.E.A.C.E.

THA DOGG POUND feat SNOOP - DOGG POUND 4 LIFE

For Today's M.M.V.F.T.S., we chose to honor one of several BANGERS off of the Soundtrack to the 1994 Movie "ABOVE THE RIM."  Today, March 22nd, marks the 20th Anniversary of the release of an album that helped changed movie soundtracks forever.  Right or Wrong, after 1994 the Soundtrack became just as big of a priority as the movie itself.  Oftentimes, the soundtrack was the ONLY thing good about the movies.  Fortunately, as far as "Above The Rim" is concerned, BOTH works of art were pretty damn good.  Among hot contributions from Tupac, H-Town, Aaron Hall, and multiple parties within the Death Row Records Camp, this one right here was-in my opinion-Far & Away the most memorable stand out cut!  Oh, and R.I.P. to Uncle JuneBug.

SEVERAL RANDOM REASONS WHY PRO WRESTLING DOESN'T COMPLETELY SUCK...

3/17/2014

let's face it, professional wrestling was the first "reality show."  but For those of us old enough to remember pro wrestling's golden age of the 1980's, or even better the the explosion in popularity during the late 1990's, most would agree that the product  has been pretty hard to watch in recent years.  hell, many of the legends from the aforementioned time frame (at least those still alive #AnotherStoryForAnotherTime) often state in interviews that they rarely watch today's wrestling programming.  Increasingly more each year since maybe 2010, the story-lines got more & more idiotic-and even worse, wrestling fans were forced to endure hours & hours of mediocre amateurs simply not ready for the big time.   Wrestler after wrestler came & went-after being proclaimed as The next big thing."  but finally, it appears that the dark days might be slowly coming to an end.   Don't get me wrong, watching three hours & nine minutes of Monday night raw may still be a bit much.  But recording raw on the dvr, so that you don't miss some of the more recent bright spots can definitely satisfy one's craving for a little scripted violence.
PictureTHE SHIELD
the shield debuted at the survivor series, in November 2012.  Since then they've been one of the two hottest thing things going in sports entertainment.  for the first year or so, the three-man tandem consisting of dean ambrose, seth rollins & roman reigns were eerily similar to  the hall, hogan & nash nwo-but now have shed that image to become a much more respectable interest.  a quick search of YouTube will provide many, many links of the shield appearing from out of the crowd, to hand out a pretty heavy beat-down to almost every top star in the wwe.  though each member has his own interesting bit about him, it appears that roman reigns is set for a big push in the near future (more on that later).

PictureTHE WYATT FAMILY
I've gotta admit that i vehemently dismissed these dudes as another one of those  ridiculously cartoonish gimmick s that vince McMahon is known for; but upon further examination, these cats are pretty dope.  they are unusually violent for today's pg-era talents.  and they're entrance in priceless.  "we're here..."

PictureDANIEL BRYAN
Daniel bryan probably should have appeared first on this list, as he is far & away the wwe's most popular star at this time.  the brain-trust, behind the wwe seems to not totally be aware of this fact, as they continuously try to push more muscle-bound talents over him.  bit clearly the fans have another way of looking at this scenario.  For the last few months, no matter who was in the ring, the fans eagerly chant daniel bryan's name & his signature catch-phrase "yes!!!" from city to city.  Highly talented, and possessing an "regular guy"  appeal, he is the future of pro wrestling.  whether Vince McMahon agrees or not.

PictureROMAN REIGNS
The Big Man Roman Reigns is part of long Samoan  Bloodline of wrestlers several generations deep.  The Anoa'i family includes The Rock, High Chief Peter Maivia, The Wild Samoans, The Headshrinkers, The Samoan Swat Team, The Usos, Yokozuna & More.  Anyone with any awareness of wrestling history understands just how deep that goes.  As for roman reigns himself, between the spear, the super-punch & the evil glare that he gives from across the ring, there is absolutely a WWE Championship Belt in his future.  The near Future.

Picture
And while we're on the subject of the Anoa'i family, current WWE tag Team Champions the Usos  provide an excitement not provided since the famous Cruiserweight battles from WCW's heyday.  Jimmy & Jey Uso jump around & On your head in route to victory after victory-and provide a nice little dose of Samoan Culture each time they enter the ring.

PictureBIG E. LANGSTON
Not alot to say here.  if you can get past the fact that some ass-clown thought it  would be okay to name homie  "Big E. Langston," one will find a huge spectacle of muscle-bound ferocity.  ?should i say more???  Current intercontinental champion too.

PictureDOLPH ZIGGLER
Filed under the category of "underutilized talents," Dolph Ziggler very much reminds me of ric flair in his prime.  However it is ever so clear that he has pissed someone off at wwe headquarters.  After getting a pretty big push in the beginning, that included a World Heavyweight Championship run, Ziggler has since been relegated to being buried at mid-card level status for at least the past year.  At whatever point he sees his way  out of the doghouse, it would be great to see him paired with a newly re-signed "nature boy" ric flair.  could be great...

THEN OF COURSE THERE'S THE LADIES...

NEED I SAY MORE???
