Wax Lyrical is defined by TTEOAN as: music created in an unreserved and highly prolific way that is pressed on vinyl, or that uses a vinyl aesthetic. For a more elaborate description of the term Wax Lyrical, check out prior posts: Vol. I, Vol. I.a, Vol. II & the Special Edition.
An old homie from my college days sent me a few joints that he created on the fly using the MPC workstation. He goes by Brother Mal for ThinkStrong Productions. He's currently stationed in AZ by way of Charlotte, NC.
Originally from Queens, New York City, New York, and a college graduate of the southeast, Brother Mal used to go back to his gate all the time and come back with Kid Capri, Clue, Ron G and Flex mixtapes before they were big names. We’re talking mid to late 90s, Golden Era styles, no fake stuff with fluff. I’d dub the joints, he’d slang em on campus.
He’d always had some tight ish on deck. Simply put, I respect his tastes in Music. Enjoy his joint below: Scott 76. You can contact him directly via email at: [email protected]. I am not sure on the origins of the beat, sample used, etc, but if you want the details on it, hit him up on the email. Coming next week: A Litespeed Track. He’s a good cat straight outta Riverside, California.
Any artists that would like to have their songs featured on Wax Lyrical, please submit your email in the comments, or hit me directly at [email protected]. Peace.
