Wax Lyrical is defined by TTEOAN as: music created in an unreserved and highly prolific way that is pressed on vinyl, or that uses a vinyl aesthetic. For a more elaborate description of the term Wax Lyrical, check out prior posts: Vol. I, Vol. I.a, Vol. II & the Special Edition.
In the Wax Lyrical post from 10-18-18, I featured two instrumentals by [email protected]. One was called Living Room, and the other was Nice To Be Old. Both are mellow, laid-back and original (refer to the post from 10-18 for more info on the beats). I stated in that post that I’d heard [email protected] was supposed to be putting some lyrics on the tracks. I also said that if that happened, as soon as I got them, you’d get them. Word is Bond, here they are.
The first track-Living Room, it’s more of a rhythmic conversation Sith has with the listener about real life issues, relationships, family responsibilities, social and economic power trips. His tone matches the beat, it’s laid back and utilizes pauses for emphasis, the basic silence you’d have in a verbal exchange in a calm voice. The things he’s saying are harsh truths, delivered in a calm way.
Now the second cut-Nice To Be Old, is part two of Living Room in my opinion. It’s like chapter two, or episode two of Living Room, now he's outside speaking so to say…so it’s a little more direct in that way. The mood, tone and tempo of both songs are similar, but they’re distinctly different. Just like the vocal tone, subject matter and delivery is the similar on this track like it is on Living Room, but they’re both different as well. Only way to tell is to listen to both. S.O. to Speed & Sith in So. Cal! They continue to create good substance-based music.
Any artists that would like to have their songs featured on Wax Lyrical, please submit your email in the comments, or hit me directly at [email protected]. Peace.
