Wax Lyrical is defined by TTEOAN as: music created in an unreserved and highly prolific way that is pressed on vinyl, or that uses a vinyl aesthetic. For a more elaborate description of the term Wax Lyrical, check out prior posts: Vol. I, Vol. I.a, Vol. II & the Special Edition. So, it’s that time again. Another Wax Lyrical. Last week I went the East coast route and featured a track by my homie Brother Mal out of Queens, New York. This week, I’m going to the West coast and featuring an artist that builds with [email protected], and active producer & Emcee of the IMC Crew-Litespeed. He’s a vet of the Hip Hop Culture, and usually stays behind the boards on production, but also Emcees. Litespeed sent me a few joints! I appreciate it that indeed, gives me a clearer picture of the production and rhyming skills, and allows me the opportunity to pick the joints I want to post. For this session, I picked an instrumental called 123-New Batteries. Litespeed lays some proper drum patterns behind the Bob James version of Feel Like Making Love. Peep and let me know what you think in the comments. If you want to hit Litespeed up directly, email him at: [email protected]. Any artists that would like to have their songs featured on Wax Lyrical, please submit your email in the comments, or hit me directly at [email protected]. Peace.
